JEFFREY MORGAN’S MEDIA BLACKOUT #487

JEFFREY MORGAN’S MEDIA BLACKOUT #487.105!

John Lennon – “Woman Is The Nigger Of The World” (Apple) :: Just because your wife comes up with a racist feminist phrase in a magazine interview doesn’t mean you have to use it as a song title and release it as a single, do you?

John Lennon – “Angela” (Apple) :: I guess you do, especially since you can prove that you’re down with the cause by also writing a tribute song about Black Panther supporter Angela Davis. By the way, John Lennon has been inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

The Rolling Stones – “Sweet Black Angel” (Rolling Stones) :: Hey, Keith! If it’s good enough for Beatle John, why don’t we combine both the racist epithet and the Angela Davis tribute in our own B-side?

The Rolling Stones – “Midnight Rambler” (Decca) :: Especially since we can prove that we’re down with the cause by writing a misogynist song that includes the line: “He’s crouching like a proud Black Panther.”

The Rolling Stones – “Brown Sugar” (Rolling Stones) :: Not to mention this catchy little ditty about white slavery. By the way, the Rolling Stones have been inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

Alice Cooper – “Only Women Bleed” (Atlantic) :: Y’know, maybe if Alice had written a tribute to Angela Davis using a racist epithet instead of writing songs protesting domestic violence against women he would’ve gotten inducted into the Rock Hall sooner.

The Rolling Stones – “Angie” (Rolling Stones) :: Writing a lame power ballad about David Bowie’s wife wouldn’t have hurt his chances either.

Alice Cooper – “Iman” (Bizarre) :: On second thought, forget it. Besides, if they excluded all the racist, adulterous, insane, suicidal, drunk-driving, wife-beating, gun-shooting, drug-addicted, devil-worshipping, criminally convicted musicians, who’d be left?

Pat Boone – “Ain’t That A Shame” (Dot) :: Y’know, maybe if Pat recorded a few heavy metal songs, he’d be in the Rock Hall just like that other hard-rocking rebel Billy Joel.

Pat BooneIn A Metal Mood (Hip-O) :: On second thought, forget it.

Be seeing you!
